(Scotland) Footdee: a Quaint little Fisherman's Village by the Aberdeen Beach

A month ago, my friend and I went to Footdee (or Fittie, in local's language). It took around 15 minutes by bus from my house (use Bus #15 from Aberdeen city centre to Beach Esplanade area and stopped at York Street, just infront of Fittie Area)

Located just by the beach, this quaint looking village full of rows of uniform cottage from the mid 19th century. It was John Smith -the local architect who also build Balmoral Castle, that designed & concepted the place back in 1809.

As we walk in the lane, we can see that this lane is devided the main cottage and it's shed in the other side. While both the cottage & shed similar in size, the design is different from one to another owner. very colorful, vibrant and quirky, love it..!

The famous shed of Footdee

A very colorful shed

If you walk until the end of the road of Footdee and wander around sea front you will then end up just in a park near by the beach. And if you continue to walk, you'll then find the Aberdeen Harbour.
